About Course

🏗️ Course Title: Structural Analysis and Design

Course Code: 4034-CIV
Duration: 8 Weeks

📘 Introduction

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of structural analysis and design, covering both theoretical foundations and practical applications using modern engineering software.

📄 Description

Participants will learn how to analyze internal forces and moments in structural elements and design them according to international standards. The course integrates manual calculations and software-based modeling to simulate realistic structural behavior under various loads.

🎯 Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamentals of structural analysis and load paths

  2. Calculate internal forces and design basic structural members

  3. Analyze indeterminate structures manually and using software

  4. Apply relevant design codes for safety and compliance

  5. Complete a full structural design project independently

Expected Outcomes

Upon successful completion, learners will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and design structural systems

  • Create and interpret structural models in ETABS/SAP2000

  • Prepare structural design documentation

  • Apply engineering judgment to select appropriate structural systems
